III: Job Related Training
Employees with current or prospective Financial, HRMS/Payroll, and Human Resources job duties are required to obtain training related to the duties they perform or oversee. The training must be completed before the employee can start performing the job function or is given the responsibility. In some cases, the training must be taken annually during the established mandatory training period.
A reminder email will be sent out by the university to each employee about the annual mandatory training. In addition to the university's email, the college departments have developed a monitoring process (Staff Training Matrix) to make sure that training is completed by all employees according to their job duties and overall responsibility. Failure to complete mandatory training will result in disciplinary action by the department.
IV: Finance Based Mandatory Training
Finance based mandatory training is required by employees whose job duties involves certain financial responsibilities. The requirements for financial training along with the job responsibilities associated with the training are listed in Section V. Training registration for those courses can be found at: http://www.uh.edu/adminservices/training/financeonlinereg.htm.
